Windows10 (2004)でThinAppアプリが起動できない問題（2020-08-13時点の情報）

概要：Windows 10 (2004)でThinAppアプリを起動すると
エラーが発生し、起動ができません。

ThinApp has encountered an unexpected error. Click Abort to close the application, Retry to debug, or Continue to ignore the error. Support info: PID=3796, create_process.cpp@4548, Unexpected exception in RelaunchUsingCreateProcess.

原因：
本日時点（2020-08-13）のThinApp最新版(ver 5.2.7)は、Windows 10 (2004)をサポートしていません。
そのため、利用できない状況になっています。
※32bit版の仮想アプリが対象です。
　64bit版の仮想アプリでは、この問題は発生しません。

回避策：
本日時点（2020-08-13）では、回避策がありませんん。
次期バージョンのThinApp ver5.2.8??で解決されると思います。
（個人的な希望、願いです。。。）


意図せずに、Windows 10 (2004)に機能更新してしまった場合は、
ThinAppがサポートしているWindows 10 (1909)に戻す必要がありますが、
それもそれでリスクがあると想うので、自己責任でお願いします。

仮想化済みEXEに組込まれているThinApp VOSバージョン確認方法

ThinAppのVOSのバージョンを確認する方法について
仮想化済のEXEがどのバージョンのThinAppでBuildされているかを
確認したいことがあると思います。

簡単に確認できそうで、意外と煩わしかったりするのですが、
実は、パラメータがあります。
-thinstallversion

「thinstall」というのは、VMwareに買収される前のThinAppの名前です。
買収前は、thinstallという名前でした。
買収後にThinAppという名称に変わりましたが、内部的にはthinstallの名前が
ところどころ残っていたりします。

ThinApp VOSのバージョン確認手順
仮想化したEXEに対して、-thinstallversion
パラメータを付けて実行すると、ThinApp VOSのバージョンを確認することができます。
例)ThinApp化した.exe -thinstallversion

※注意点
メッセージボックスに出力される「Built Mar 17 2020」部分は、
ThinApp VOSが作成された日付です。
　※VMwareがこのバージョンのThinApp VOSを作成した日付。
実際にユーザーがアプリ仮想化(Built.batを実行)した日付ではありませんのでご注意を。

メンテナンス リリースになるため新機能は、ありませんが
より安定してたバージョンになっていると思います。

このバージョンで
Windows 10 Version 2004 (別名 Windows 10 May 2020 Update) サポート

このリリースで嬉しいのは、
Windows 10 2004サポートが最も大きいですね。

VMware ThinApp 5.2.8 はメンテナンス リリースです。このリリース ノートでは、次のトピックについて説明します。

新機能

  • Microsoft Windows 10 2004 のサポート。
  • ThinApp セットアップ キャプチャのためのキーボードのみを使用したナビゲーションを追加しました。
  • ThinApp セットアップ キャプチャから外部参照へのリンクを削除しました。

解決した問題

  • Win32 COM API を使用する仮想アプリケーションが、さまざまなエラーで失敗する
    アプリケーションの複数のインスタンスが同時に実行されている場合、RegisterActiveObject や GetActiveObject などの Win32 COM API を使用する仮想アプリケーションが、さまざまなエラーで失敗します。
    解決策：ThinApp 5.2.8 を使用してパッケージを再構築します。
  • 仮想化された Oracle SQL Developer 19.4 アプリケーションが期待どおりに動作しない
    sqldeveloper64W.exe プロセスを使用して実行される仮想化された Oracle SQL Developer 19.4 が約 10 秒後に終了します。その結果、ユーザーは仮想アプリケーションを使用できなくなります。
    解決策：ThinApp 5.2.8 を使用してパッケージを再構築します。
  • Windows 10 の展開で VBScript の ThinApp コールバック関数が動作しない
    ThinApp コールバック関数が VBScript で使用されていると、仮想アプリケーションの実行に失敗し、対応するアプリケーション エラーが Windows イベント ログに記録されます。
    解決策：ThinApp 5.2.8 を使用してアプリケーションを再構築します。

既知の問題

  • IE11 セキュリティ パッチ KB 4056568 が適用された後、シャットダウン中に仮想 IE11 が失敗します。
    回避策：Package.ini ファイルの [汎用パラメータ (General Purpose)] セクションに次のパラメータを追加し、パッケージを再構築します。

    ForceTerminateThread = 1
  • Windows 8.1 の 64 ビット版では、LibreOffice が正常にシャットダウンされません。 
    回避策：Package.ini ファイルの [汎用パラメータ (General Purpose)] セクションに次のパラメータを追加し、パッケージを再構築します。

    ReleaseShutdownLocksEarly = 1
  • Excel の Excel グラフ、Word の Word 文書、PowerPoint など、特定の Microsoft Office アプリケーションに Office オブジェクトを挿入できません。 
    回避策：なし
  • Internet Explorer 11 が Windows 8 および Windows 8.1 で起動しません。
    回避策：なし。
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 で、特定の URL を開くことができません。
    回避策：次のパラメータを Package.ini に追加し、パッケージを再構築します。

    NotificationDLLs = T2embed
  • Microsoft Excel 2013 で [保護されたビュー (Protected View)] が有効になっていると、Excel がネットワーク共有からファイルを開くことができません。
    回避策：安全でない可能性のある場所にあるファイルの、[ファイル (File)] > [オプション (Options)] > [トラスト センター (Trust Center)] > [トラスト センターの設定 (Trust Center Settings)] > [保護されたビュー (Protected View)] > [保護されたビューを有効にする (Enable Protected View)] からの保護ビューを無効にします。
  • Microsoft Office がネイティブにインストールされているシステムにデプロイすると、Microsoft Office 2010 および Microsoft Office 2013 の起動に失敗します。
    回避策：詳細については、ナレッジベースの記事 2107369 を参照してください。
  • ネットワーク共有から Google Chrome を起動できません。
    回避策：SetVirtualModuleFileNameInPeb = 1 を Package.ini に追加し、パッケージを再構築します。
  • Microsoft Visio 2010 のヘルプ ファイルは、64 ビット版の Windows には表示されません。 
    回避策：この回避策を適用するには、ナレッジベースの記事 2091911 を参照してください。
     
  • 32 ビットの Internet Explorer 10 は Windows 8.1（32 ビットと 64 ビットの両方の版）では動作しません。
    回避策：なし。
  • Microsoft Word 2013 または Microsoft Power Point 2013 の 2 つのインスタンスを起動しようとすると、これらのアプリケーションが応答しなくなります。
    回避策：なし。
  • Package.ini の Outdir パラメータを次のいずれかの言語の文字で置き換えると、ThinApp は Windows 7 の 32 ビット版でのパッケージのビルドに失敗します。
    • 簡体字中国語
    • 繁体字中国語
    • 日本語
    • 韓国語
    回避策：なし。
  • ThinApp は、Windows 8、Windows 8.1、および Windows 10 マシンの 16 ビット アプリケーションをサポートしていません。
    回避策：なし
  • 64 ビット版の Windows 7 で AutoCAD を起動すると、次のエラーメッセージが表示されます。
    PresentationFontCache.exe - アプリケーション エラー
    回避策：なし。
  • Visual Studio 2010 には、次のエラーメッセージが表示されます。
    無効なライセンス データです。起動するには、再インストールが必要です。 
    詳細については、ナレッジベースの記事 2091953 を参照してください。
    回避策：なし
  • Windows 10 で Internet Explorer 8 以降を使用して web ページを開くことができません。
    回避策：この回避策の詳細については、ナレッジベースの記事 2137873 を参照してください。
  • Web サイトを Internet Explorer でお気に入りとしてマークした場合に、その Web サイトがお気に入りバーにすぐに表示されません。
    回避策：次の内容の %Common Favorites% フォルダに ##Attributes.ini ファイルを作成し、パッケージを再構築します。

  • Windows 10 で 64 ビット バージョンの Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 または Microsoft Word 2010 を起動すると、「致命的なアプリケーション終了」エラーが発生します。
    回避策：ChildProcessEnvironmentException=msiexec.exe を Package.ini に追加して、プロジェクトをビルドします。
  • アプリケーションがネットワーク共有から実行されている場合、COMDLG32 エラーが表示されます。
    回避策：ProcessExternalNameBehavior = Original と SetVirtualModuleFileNameInPeb = 1 を Package.ini の [汎用パラメータ (General Purpose)] セクションに追加し、パッケージを再構築します。
  • Windows 10 1803 にデプロイすると Microsoft Visio 2010 の起動に失敗します
    回避策：なし
  • ThinApp は、Windows の 32 ビット バージョンのレジストリ キー名を変更することはできません。
    回避策：なし

     Windows10 がリリースされてから、
    早いもので10世代目に突入しています。

    そろそろ、Windows 10 も2009がリリースされそうですが。。。

    Windows10 (2004)に2020年12月セキュリティ更新プログラム(KB4592438)を適用するとThinAppアプリが起動できない※2020-12-11時点の情報

    概要：Windows10 (2004)に2020年12月セキュリティ更新プログラム(KB4592438)を適用するとThinAppアプリが起動できない。
    手持ちの全てのThinAppアプリで起動できないことを確認しています。
    （ThinApp SetupCapterも起動できませんでした。）
    また、エラーメッセージも表示されません。
    ※何も反応がなかったので、何回もダブルクリックしてしまいました。。。

    Windowsのイベントビューワにはエラーが出力されていました。

    原因：
    Windows10 (2004)にMicrosoft、2020年12月の更新プログラム(KB4592438)を適用すると発生します。
    ※Windows 10(1909,1903)では2020年12月の更新プログラム(KB4592449)を適用しても問題ありませんでした。Windows10（1809,1803）は不明です。


    回避策：
    本日時点（2020-12-11）では、KB4592438をアンインストールする以外に方法は見つかりませんでした。

    Firefox ESRを仮想アプリ化する

    Firefox ESRをThinAppを使って仮想アプリ化するためのTipsについて
    書こうと思いましたが、色々とチューニングが必要なので

    Adobe Flashを延命する方法 （2020-12-15）

    ThinAppを使ってAdobe Flash Playerを延命する方法について


    Adobe Flash Playerが2020-12月で終了してしまいます。

    業務用のWebシステムや、ネットワーク機器や各種サービスのWeb管理コンソールなどで
    Flash Playerが必要な物もあるかと思います。
    ※インターネットサイトでFlashを利用するのは、おすすめしませんので
    あくまでも、イントラネット内のWebシステムの延命目的です。

    ThinAppを利用してFlashの設定ファイルやFlashのモジュールを仮想パッケージに閉じ込めることで2021年以降も利用可能です。
    ※直接システム側を設定更新するよりも、ThinAppで仮想アプリケーションパッケージに閉じ込めるほうが良いと思います。

     

    詳しい手順は、セキュリティなど色々とややこしい事情がありそうなので
    このブログでは解説しませんが、最低限必要な情報だけまとめておきます。

    MicrosoftのFlash削除 アップデート

    KB4577586を適用すると、Flashのモジュールがシステムから削除されます。
    また、このKB4577586はアンインストールできません。

      Resolved Issues
      In Windows 8.1 and later, virtualized applications fail to display certain GUI components. The applications might report an access violation exception in the event log, but fail to display the corresponding UI dialog box.

      Following is the sample of an access violation exception in the event log:

      When the Firefox user profile setting security.sandbox.content.level is set to level 1, the Firefox package is unresponsive. As a result, the Firefox application fails.

      ThinApp applications fail to launch on Windows 10 2004 64-bit systems, which have Microsoft Security Patch KB4592438 installed.

      ThinApp サポート期間について



      ThinAppのサポート期間についての投稿です。

      ※2021-03-19時点の情報

      Google検索でThinAppを検索すると、なぜか「thinapp サポート終了」という
      ショッキングなサジェストが表示されることに気が付きました。

      ThinAppは、まだまだサポートされていますので安心してください。

      ThinApp 5.xは、2023/01/12までサポートされています。


       

      超重要：

      ThinApp 5.xは最新版がリリースされると

      自動的にサポート期間が2年延長されます！！

      本日時点の最新版ver5.2.9は、

      2021年1月12日にリリースされたので、

      サポート終了日は、2023年1月12日までになっています。

      最新版が約6ヶ月毎にリリースされますので

      その都度、自動的にサポート期間が延長されると思います。

      約6ヶ月ぶりのリリースになります。

      メンテナンス リリースになるため新機能は、ありませんが
      より安定してたバージョンになっていると思います。

      このバージョンで
      Windows 10 Version 21H1がサポートされました。

      このリリースで嬉しいのは、
      Windows 10 21H1サポートが最も大きいですね。
      また、VirtIE8/9などでMS-IMEの日本語入力ができない問題も新たなパラメータが追加され解決しました。

        Security Updates

        Resolved Issues
        Certain applications virtualized with ThinApp fail with an access violation error on Windows Server 2019 which has RDS enabled. This issue is resolved by adding the EnableExternalHookInterception=1 parameter to Package.ini and rebuilding the package with ThinApp 5.2.10.

        If a directory with trailing spaces is created by any application, ThinApp is unable to virtualize the application and capture fails with the following error displayed on SetupCapture:

        unable to create file "\\?\C:\Program Files\VMWare\Vmware Thinapp\Captures\FileName

        On virtual Internet Explorer, the input language cannot be changed to Japanese. As a result, Japanese characters cannot be used on the address bar of the browser. This issue is resolved by adding AddIMESupport=1 in the package.ini file and rebuilding the package with ThinApp 5.2.10.

        Changed zoom settings on virtual Internet Explorer 8 are not retained across new tabs or in a new window. As a result, the user must manually change these settings in each tab or window or view the default settings.

         Windows10 がリリースされてから、
        早いもので12世代目に突入しています。

        Windows10は最後のWindows！！とMicrosoftは言ってた気がしますが
        Windows11がリリースされる予定ですね。

        忘れないうちに、これまでのリリースについて
        まとめておきます。（2021年07月 現在）

        ThinAppも7/13にバージョンアップしver5.2.10がリリースされたので追加しました。

        読者のみなさんが、

        一番期待している事がThinAppで

        出来ません！！

        「ThinAppを利用してIE11を完全に仮想アプリ化 してWindows10で実行すること」

        あれこれ頑張ったんですが、IE11のFullVirtualizedがWindows10で動いてくれません。
        ちなみに、IE6、IE8、IE9は動きました。
        何か大きな力を感じます。（陰謀！？）

        壮大な出落ちですいません。

         

        【IEサポートに関する影響】

        1.  IEに依存した業務システムが・・・
        2. BtoBシステムがIEに依存（自社・他社：取引先など）
        3.  サポート終了までに移行・改修が間に合わない
        4. 業務システム以外にもIE依存システムが・・・（古いネットワーク機器の管理画面など）

         【IEサポート終了時期など】

        1.  

           IE11デスクトップ アプリのサポート終了は2022年6月15日まで
          1. Windows 10,Windows 8.1
        2.  Windows Server 2019のIE11は2029年まで
        3. Windows 10 (LTSC)は2029年（LTSCのサポート期間まで） 

         　※Microsoft EdgeのIEモード、IEエンジン（Trident）のサポートは2029年まで

        【IE11の代わり】

        ThinAppでIE11が仮想化できないなら、互換ブラウザーを使えばいいじゃない。

        という声が聞こえてきました。

        ということで、互換ブラウザーといえば、SimpleBrowserですね。
        （日商エレクトロニクスさんのthinforieもありますが。。。）

        だいぶ宣伝になってしまうんですが、SimpleBrowserはエンタープライズ向けに

        サポートや導入支援などなどを提供している会社があります。
        昔はフリーソフトで無料、無サポートでした。
